The selection procedure indicates that it will be compulsory to submit all the documentation requested by e-mail within the deadline for access to the call for applications. Applications that do not provide such documentation will be deemed to have withdrawn their application for access to the call for applications.

1. Economic conditions
1.1 Rates
How is the price composed?
The price of the Residence consists of accommodation, a package of complementary services.
In addition, the prices are calculated on the basis of the square metres available in each of the rooms, the most common ones being those shown below. You can consult the complete table in the original Bases.On the other hand, the allocation of the types of rooms is at the discretion of the Residence Hall and the resident may request a single, double or adapted room.

What does accommodation include?
Prices per person/month for full course accommodation. Therefore, the accommodation includes: accommodation, use of common areas, 24h concierge service, cleaning of common areas, building maintenance.
Complementary Services
Includes: delivery of bed and bath linen, weekly room cleaning, weekly change of bed and bath linen, individual Wi-Fi internet in each room and WI-FI in common areas, half board service, choice of lunch or dinner, technical maintenance of the rooms (except for negligent use), kitchenware, household appliances (microwave, refrigerator cabinet with freezer, etc.).
Services not included and additional costs
Telephone calls outside the building and personal laundry are not included. In order to promote energy savings in the building, the consumption of energy supplies for which there are individualised meters, such as cold water, hot water and electricity, will also be re-billed. Therefore, payment for these supplies will be paid monthly in arrears according to their actual consumption. Residents and parents will be able to track their consumption via a cloud-based application to which they will be given access.
Timetable and method of payment
Monthly payments will be made quarterly, except for the first month, between the 1st and 5th, by direct debit to the account indicated on the pre-enrolment form. The first month must be paid by the resident by bank deposit or transfer within the indicated period. Students who are not resident in Spain must open a current account in Spain for the direct debit of the monthly payments. The payment schedule is as follows:
Key payment dates
- Until 25 August: Resident's deposit or transfer: September monthly fee-administration fees (40€) and deposit.
- In the case of double rooms, a compatibility test will be invoiced in order to match residents. The test will be carried out by the residents once they have been accepted and will be used to match applicants with the best possible compatibility between them. This study has already been tested in previous years with excellent results in terms of cohabitation. El coste del servicio son 40€, y lo realiza una empresa externa.
- 1-5 October: quarter 1 October to 31 December. Domiciliation.
- 1-5 January: quarter 1 January to 31 March. Domiciliation.
- 1-5 April: Quarter 1 April to 30 June. Domiciliation.
1.2 Reservation of places
This amount serves as a place reservation and corresponds to the additional guarantee requested for the course.
• All residents: 500 €
1.3 Additional Guarantee and deposit
Once you are accepted / to the residence, you will have to pay the € 500 quoted in Art. above, corresponding to the additional 500 € Warranty seeking the residence to ensure the proper use and conservation of both the room itself, as the household provided to each resident. It was also given a deposit of amount for one month to be deposited into the Community of Madrid. Under no circumstances may charge the security deposit to pay the last contract month.
Former residents must regularise the additional guarantee deposit from the previous academic year in July. From the publication of the list of admitted students on the Residence's website.
1.4 Dining Service
Includes: Breakfast (from 7:30 am to 10:00 am), Lunch (from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm) and/or Dinner (from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm). During the summer, weekends and holidays, the canteen may have a reduced timetable, which you will have to consult with the management of the residence hall.
The Full Board includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, from Monday to Sunday, except for the holiday periods stipulated by the academic calendar.
En cambio, la Media Pensión incluye Comidas, de lunes a domingo, excepto los periodos vacacionales estipulados por el calendario académico. Students who opt for this service must choose between the lunch or dinner service, and may change their choice at the change of semester (January) with 2 months' notice. Half board for meals is included in the price of the complementary services.
The chosen service will also be the one stated in the Application Form and must be maintained for the entire stay. Only changes due to force majeure will be accepted.
1.5 Laundry
The residence has a laundry room, with auto-washing. Also has a space reserved for ironing. Residents can apply the iron at the reception mode on free loan.
1.6 Extra cleaning service
If you wish, you can hire an extra cleaning service for your room.
The cost is 20 €, 10% VAT not included.
This service is optional and can be requested directly at reception.
1.7 Other services
Phone number: All rooms have their own telephone, connected to the building's switchboard, which allows direct access to the telephone network. Calls between rooms in the residence are free of charge. External calls will be billed directly on the bill of the month following consumption.
Internet: The internet connection is via ethernet cable in the rooms and WI-FI in the common areas. The residence hall does NOT provide the internet connection cable, which must be brought by each resident.
2. Duration of the accommodation contract
All contracts are formalised for a minimum and compulsory term of 10 months, or until the end of the academic year if the residence hall has been accessed after the start of the academic year. However, the contract provides for the possibility of early cancellation with 2 months' notice.
3. Allocation of places
La adjudicación de las plazas de los estudiantes se realizará por orden de llegada una vez iniciada la convocatoria el 1 de abril. La reserva de la plaza en la Residencia Universitaria José Pérez de Vargas, se realizará a partir del mismo día de la confirmación de la plaza y durante el periodo de 3 días naturales desde la recepción del correo de confirmación de plaza y enlace de pago mediante el anticipo del importe de la Garantía Adicional de 500 €.
The Admissions and Management Committee may request any information it deems necessary to verify the documentation provided and for a better assessment of the applications submitted and subsequent allocation of places.
Once the place has been reserved, the Residence Hall will have the power to allocate the accommodation at its own discretion and although it will try to meet the standards requested in the reservation made by the resident, it is expressly stated that the final allocation will be left to the Residence Hall's free choice according to operational and organisational reasons, and the resident must abide by the decision taken. It is also expressly stated that the Residence Hall allocates a place in the Residence Hall, never a type of room.
4. Provisional and indicative pre-registration process
4.1 Deadline
For students who are resident during the course, the application period for the renewal of their place will be open from 1st to 15th April.
Under no circumstances will an application for renewal by current residents lead to automatic renewal. Renewal will depend on the criteria set out in the Bases for Admission, as will new applications, in addition to the evaluation of the degree of compliance with the Internal Regulations of the centre.
For the confirmation of the Residence's Application for Renewal of place by the residents, the Residence will prepare a document accepting the transfer of the additional guarantee and deposit to the following academic year. The amount of the additional guarantee will be returned only in the event of non-admission for the following academic year.
For new residents, the deadlines for applying for a place are as follows:
• Start: April 1.
• Finalización de la convocatoria ordianaria: hasta el 11 de Julio
• Publicación listas provisionales: 11 de Julio.
• Solicitud de devolución de reserva por no haber accedido a la URJC: hasta el 14 de Julio
• Publicación listas definitivas: 15 de Julio.
4.2 Formalization of new residents
To pre-register for the residency, it is absolutely essential to have an email address, as all administrative procedures are completed online.
To complete your pre-registration correctly, you must follow these steps:
Complete the online pre-registration form. You will automatically receive an email at the address specified on the form. Follow the instructions.
If you don't receive an email after completing your pre-registration, it's because the email was entered incorrectly on the pre-registration form or some of the required information is incorrect, and you'll need to start the process again.
5. Admission process
5.1. Admission letter
Students admitted to the residence will receive their Letter of Admission by email approximately two to three days after the final list of admissions is published.
5.2 Publication of the list of admitted applicants and the waiting list
Starting with the closing of the call for applications in July, the list of those admitted and, where applicable, the waiting list will be published on the Residence's website.
5.3 Admitted
Once admitted, new residents have three calendar days to formalize their place by paying a €500 reservation fee. This transaction is made online by credit card.
5.4 Receipt of the admission letter and attached documentation
Contracts are signed by appointment at the residence in early September.
5.5 Room allocation and payment letter for deposit and first month
Once the spaces are confirmed, the residence hall management will proceed to assign the rooms. This process may take until early August, especially in the case of double rooms.
Each resident will receive an email with their assigned room type and the costs of the first month's rent. These costs will depend on the booking option chosen: single or double room, full or half board, as well as the administration fee and deposit.
The payment of this first monthly payment must be made before August 25th, in order to verify payment prior to incorporation. Failure to do so within the deadline without justificationwill result in the student's spot being automatically forfeited and assigned to the next applicant on the waiting list.
5.6 Room layout
The residence hall managers will allocate rooms. However, in the event of an unforeseen need, the management reserves the right to change the assigned room during the stay, provided that the new room is of the same type as the one initially booked.
6. Recruitment process
6.1. Arrival at the residence
Upon arrival at the residence, the accommodation contract will be formalized. Contracts are signed by appointment at the residence in early September. An email will be sent informing each resident. The required documentation must be submitted to all residents upon signing the contract.
6.2. Sending the students’ documents
Accommodations at this residence are classified as sheltered accommodation for specific groups under the Resolution the Department of Housing and Rehabilitation issued on May 13, 2011, under Royal Order 2066/2008 of 12 December, regulating the National Housing and Rehabilitation 2009-2012, as amended by Royal Order 1713/2010, of 17 December and Decree 74/2009, of 30 July, approving the Regulation Housing with Protection public Community of Madrid.
Therefore, prior to signing the contract the student must provide the documents listed in the rules for admission to be attached to the contract and sent the Community of Madrid for the approval of the same.

7. Waiting List
The residence hall will open a waiting list for all those students who gave presented their application, and have not been admitted to the initial list.
In the event of a withdrawal, we will contact the applicants included on that list.
Therefore, it is essential that you complete the pre-registration form correctly, including all your phone numbers and email address. This will allow us to easily contact you during the summer months.
